Our farms here at Whiskey Ridge hold an abundance of turkeys. On a typical morning it’s not an issue of deciding how to set up on the bird you hear but deciding which bird you’re going to set up on. Our area of Iowa grows some of the biggest gobblers in the country. It’s not unusual to harvest gobblers 25-28 pounds with spurs 1.25-1.5 inches and thick beards over 10 inches in length.
